Here at Hot Rum Cow we are zealous advocates of the printed word. For a certain kind of reading material the screen simply doesn’t provide the same pleasure, and we feel our stories come under this category. Hot Rum Cow is best experienced in your hands, removed from distraction and probably with a large drink.

All that said, we also recognise that this isn’t always practical and we are equally zealous about spreading the word of the joys of good booze and the fascinating tales of the eccentrics, geniuses and miscreants who make and drink it. So, in this spirit we have taken the bold step of making a free digital version of the magazine available online to allow more people than ever to read and share our features.

While there are more ways to read our stories than ever before (the digital version on issuu, via a subscription to readly, by downloading your own pdf from our shop or on our website), we hope – and are confident – that most of you will still want to enjoy Hot Rum Cow as it was intended – in full inky technicolour.

We’re cranking up production to four issues a year and have some fantastic themes and features in the pipeline, so there has never been a better time to sign yourself up to a four issue subscription starting at just £24. Good Lord, that’s less than £2 a month, you couldn’t get a four pack of Tuborg for that.
